Use drought tolerant landscape materials where you don't need turf grass. This school created an educational and colorful Florida-friendly garden. Porous surfaces allow rainwater to seep into the ground instead of becoming runoff.
Florida-friendly plants come in a variety of colors and sizes. This award-winning yard has drought tolerant ground cover where turf was difficult to maintain. At this school students planted trees and drought tolerant plants to save water and create shade.
Even small garden areas can help reduce water use and create a welcoming view. Artfully placed plantings can create a peaceful retreat.

We hope to see your yard featured here next year!
