CALL FOR PHOTOGRAPHS AND HOME MOVIES

The City of Tampa's Art Programs Division is seeking photographs or home movies from individuals or institutions that relate to Tampa's historic African American neighborhoods, including the Central Avenue business district, the Scrub, and Dobyville. Additionally, photographs or film footage showing activities, businesses, parades, and/or important events in those neighborhoods are also wanted.

The photographs and film footage are being collected for possible use in the preparation and presentation of several large-scale art installations for Perry Harvey Park. Photographs and/or home movies will be scanned or copied and returned via mail or be made available for pick-up after scanning.

Anyone with photographs or film footage that would like to have them considered for inclusion in a public art installation, or be part of an archive of the City of Tampa and the Tampa Bay History Center may bring them to one of the locations listed below. It is requested that images be received Friday March 31st, 2014, 5:00 p.m. While collection of these images/movies will continue, they will be needed by this date to be considered for the public art installation.
