Tampa Art Programs

The Art Programs Division is a division under the Administrator of the Convention Center, Tourism, Recreation and Cultural Arts.

  • The Vision of the Art Programs is to implement quality programs that foster a City As Art
  • Its Mission is to develop and/or facilitate free access to artistic excellence through programming and partnerships
  • The Values are to follow best national practices and policies in the fields of Art Programming and Administration
  • The Goal of the Division is to provide a variety of opportunities for citizens and visitors alike to experience and engage in Arts and Cultural Programming that is both diverse and of high quality.

The Objectives of the program are to:

  • Bring art and cultural engagement to major public-use capital projects
  • Maintain and care for the city’s Public Art collection so that it remains an asset for future generations
  • Continue to develop outreach and educational materials so that all audiences may be made aware of, experience, and enjoy the city’s cultural assets
  • Encourage the participation of artists based in the City of Tampa and Tampa Bay Region
  • Serve as an active source of information about art in the public realm
  • Build Tampa’s reputation and visibility, both nationally and regionally, as a city of the arts
  • Bring quality Art Programs to Tampa’s neighborhoods

Programs under this division include:

  • Lights On Tampa
  • Public Art in Private Development (Chapter 27-441)
  • Cultural development and enhancements projects of designated areas such as the Riverwalk and Zack St.
  • The Public Art Program (Chapter 4)
  • Capital Improvement Projects
  • Photographer Laureate Program
  • Portals
