A MESSAGE FROM THE CITY COUNCIL CHAIRMAN

City Council is committed to working with Mayor Iorio and her administration to ensure that Tampa remains one of the great cities in the United States. Tampa has beauty, is scenic, clean, and has safe and affordable communities for all of its people. It is City Council's mission to enhance economic development and the physical improvement of every neighborhood, reduce crime in our city, and move steadfastly forward with improved code enforcement, transportation, water conservation, stormwater drainage and the delivery of all city services to our citizens.

We encourage you to stay involved with the workings of your local government through community groups, neighborhood civic associations and community leaders. Tampa City Council is dedicated to our great city being an all-inclusive city. This can only take place with your continued interaction with us.

As Chair of Tampa City Council and on behalf of my Council colleagues, I would like to thank Tampa's citizens for their participation in this year's budget process. In the final analysis, it is all of our responsibility to make Tampa a better place to live, work and play.

	Public Safety Committee Responsible for all matters presented to City Council involving the Police and Fire Rescue Departments.
	Building, Zoning and Preservation Committee Responsible for all matters presented to City Council involving zoning and code amendments within the city, all land transactions and housing and development.
	Public Works Committee Responsible for all matters presented to City Council relating to the operation of the Water, Solid Waste, Public Works, and Wastewater Departments.
	Finance Committee Responsible for all matters presented to City Council involving the Department of Revenue and Finance, Legal, Administration and Cable Communication.
	Parks and Recreation and Cultural Committee Responsible for all matters presented to City Council relating to the operation of the Convention Center, Tampa Theatre, Tampa Museum of Art and Parks and Recreation Department.
	Transportation Committee Responsible for all matters presented to City Council dealing with Transportation issues, Parking and Traffic Engineering.
