Viewership Survey - 2004General Awareness of CTTV Channel 15As shown in the graph below, well over half of all survey respondents (55.1%) indicated that they are "aware that the City of Tampa has a cable television channel called City of Tampa Television or CTTV."
Those respondents who are aware of CTTV were then asked if they could recall which channel number is used by it. As shown in the graph below, 43.8% of these respondents said they could recall the channel number.
About two-thirds (67.6%) of these respondents did, in fact, correctly identify channel 15. The balance identified other channels, however, no other channel was mentioned by more than 5% of these respondents. Respondents who are aware of CTTV, Channel 15 were then asked how they first became aware of it. As shown below, the overwhelming majority, 76.6%, of viewers first "found" CTTV by "channel surfing." 5.6% became aware of CTTV by using the TV Guide Channel, while 4.1% indicated "someone told them about the channel," 3% "heard about it at a City sponsored event and 2.5% saw the schedule printed in a newspaper.
Respondents who have watched CTTV at least monthly were then asked if they could recall which of four offered slogans was the correct slogan for CTTV, Channel 15. While most respondents (59.3%) were unable to recall any slogan, of those who chose a slogan, more (20.4%) did, in fact, choose the correct slogan, "Your City, Your Station." The graph below illustrates.
Finally, when these viewers were asked if they trusted the information on CTTV over nine out of 10 (92%) said they trust the information either a "great deal" (46.9%) or "somewhat" (45.1%). Only one respondent (.9%) said they trust the information "not very much."
