Viewership of CTTV, Channel 15

These respondents or “viewers” were then asked several
questions about their viewership patterns and habits. Just
under one-fourth (23%) of these viewers watch CTTV "daily"
(2.2%) or “a few times per week” (20.8%) and almost half
(48.1%) watch at least “a few times per month.”
As shown below,
about half (49.1%) of all viewers usually watch CTTV between
5pm and 11pm while 35.3% "watch at different times."

Finally, when viewers watch a program on CTTV, Channel
15, more than eight out of 10 (81.9%) usually watch for more
than 10 minutes, a statistically significant increase of
12.9% over levels measured in 2004.

This demonstrates that the vast majority of viewers
aren’t simply “clicking through” CTTV to get to another
channel or using it as a “pit stop” while the channel they
are viewing has a commercial break, but rather the content
or programming on the channel has captured their attention
and they have settled in to watch for a period of time.
Viewers were then asked if they had ever watched each of 14
different programs on CTTV, Channel 15, and if so, whether
they watch the program regularly. Tampa City Council
Meetings is the program seen by more viewers than any
other, as 75.7% of all viewers say they have seen it with
32.1% of them saying they watch City Council meetings
regularly.
This program was followed by The Mayor’s Hour and
Friday Extra! Concert Series both seen by over half of
the CTTV viewers (57.3% and 51.8%, respectively). On Duty
with the Tampa Police Department, Spotlight Tampa
and Wildlife at the Lowry Park Zoo have been seen by
about four out of 10 or more of CTTV viewers (45.9%, 43.1%
and 40.8%, respectively).
About one-third of CTTV viewers (33.9%) have seen On
Scene with Tampa Fire Rescue. About one fourth of all
CTTV viewers have seen Shades of Tampa (28.9%),
Que Pasa Tampa? (25.2%), and Code Enforcement Files
(25.2%).
19.7% and 15.9%, respectively, have watched City of Tampa
Job Openings and It Starts in Parks. Finally, a
little over one out of 10 CTTV viewers have seen From the
Corps (12.4%) and Focus on the Basics (11%). The
table on the following page illustrates these findings.
