"The Mayor's Hour" at Alessi Bakery and Deli

Mayor Iorio and Alessi Bakery & Deli Assistant Manager Jason Alessi chuckle as 970 Radio's Jack Harris struggles to keep from devouring the bucket of chocolate chip cookie dough on "The Mayor's Hour."  The program highlighted the near-century old family business and featured a hands-on tour of their operation on Cypress Avenue.

Jack Harris impressed viewers with his cake decorating abilities. He presented Mayor Iorio with a chocolate cake that displayed a special message in honor of her 50th birthday.  The time for admiration didn't last long though, as the CTTV crew helped the Mayor to celebrate following taping.

Dennis Lehane and Brian Sullivan

"Mayor's Book Talk" Director Brian Sullivan (right) stopped to pose with multi-award winning novelist, Dennis Lehane.  After much acclaim as a crime fiction writer, Lehane turned to history and politics in his 700-page epic, The Given Day.  On the show he discussed this tremendous historic novel, which is centered on the events before and during the Boston police strike of 1919.

Producer/Director Frank Crum videotaped members of the Mayor's Youth Corps for the opening segment of "From the Corps," now in its fifth season. The kids incorporated paint and canvass into the artistic video open.  The Mayor’s Youth Corps produces, shoots and edits "From the Corps," a program that inspires youth to get involved in their communities and to learn about their city government.
