Peak by Roland Smith

Peak is the first-person account of fourteen-year-old Peak Marcello’s attempt to summit Mt. Everest with his father.  It is a race against time, as a successful pre-birthday climb will net him the title of youngest person to make it to the top. Roland Smith and his wife Marie live on a small farm south of Portland.
