Michael is responsible for managing the City's commitment to completing the master-planned redevelopment of the Old Tampa Police Department Site, located on the Hillsborough River just north of the Central Business District. He is also responsible for managing the City's redevelopment efforts in Central Park, one of Tampa's most culturally and historically rich neighborhoods. Michael's work involves extensive collaboration with private, public and community-based organizations.

Prior to his appointment as manager of these two redevelopment areas, Michael was employed as a planner with the city's East Tampa Development Division. Other work experience includes a planning position with the City's Housing and Community Development Division, youth substance abuse prevention programming and countywide land-use planning and zoning administration.

A Georgia native, Michael holds a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice and a master of public administration degree from Georgia Southern University.
