The Economic Development Ad
Valorem Tax Exemption Program provides an additional economic
development incentive for businesses that locate or expand within the
City of Tampa and create jobs. Exemptions on Ad Valorem property and
tangible taxes are available for qualifying businesses.
The
Small Business Job Creation Program enables businesses located in
Hillsborough County, with 10 or less employees, to hire new workers. The
program will offer a wage reimbursement of 50% of wage/salary cost of
new jobs for three months, up to $3,900 for each new job.
The Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation recently
unveiled a
Locational Assessment and Recommended Strategic Plan for Economic Growth.
The report is the culmination of a seven month effort to evaluate
Tampa-Hillsborough County's competitiveness to develop, attract and
retain quality jobs for the residents of the County; to identify the
best suited target industries to achieve this objective; and to develop
strategic recommendations to best position Tampa-Hillsborough County,
its constituent communities and citizens for sustainable economic
growth.

Hillsborough County, and is the third most populous city in Florida.
Approximately one-third of Hillsborough County's population resides in
the City of Tampa.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING:
On February 7, 2012 at 10 a.m., the City of Tampa will hold a public workshop at the Tampa Police District III
Office, 3808 N. 22nd Street, Tampa, Florida 33610, (813) 242-3806 commencing at 10 a.m. until no later than
12:00 p.m. This workshop will allow citizens to review a DRAFT U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Brownfields Multi-Purpose Pilot Grant application, and offer time for questions and comments. The City of
Tampa is currently applying for one (1) U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfields Multi-Purpose
Pilot Grant for $400,000 to assist with assessment and remediation efforts at a City owned site, generally
located 1103 N. Nebraska Avenue, Tampa, FL 33605. Inquiries and comments can be submitted electronically by

Please place "EPA Multi-Purpose Grant" in the subject line of the e-mail. Paper copies of the application
will be available at the public meeting or can be obtained in electronic format on-line at http://www.tampagov.net under the Economic and Urban Development Department section after January 27, 2012.

considered for development to include in their Brownfields Program. The
City of Tampa has received $400,000 in assessment funding ($200,000 for
hazardous substances and $200,000 for petroleum) through the EPA

The CRA Facade Improvement Program provides property
owners with financial assistance (grant) to improve the appearance of
their properties in designated areas of Tampa's Community Redevelopment
Area (CRAs). The program is
