State Statute provides criteria for local governments
use to identify blighted areas to be rehabilitated (i.e. Community
Redevelopment Areas). CRAs are typically in effect for a 30 year
term, during which time they may use the growth in assessed
property values to reinvest within their boundaries. This is a powerful
redevelopment tool.
