East Tampa is ideally situated between Downtown, the Port of
Tampa and the University of South Florida and offers convenient access to
three interstates and Tampa International Airport. The community continues
to attract private sector residential and commercial development investment
throughout this 7.5 square-mile district, including the 136-room Quality Inn
and Suites and the H.O.P.E Learning Center. The City remains committed to
investing in significant public safety, aesthetic and infrastructure
improvements, including the start of construction of the North 22nd Street
improvement project in the heart of the community. East Tampa is moving
forward as a neighborhood of vibrant residential, commercial, social and
cultural life.
The City of Tampa is actively seeking properties considered for development to
include in their Brownfields Program. The City of Tampa has received $400,000
in assessment funding ($200,000 for hazardous substances and $200,000 for petroleum)

The CRA Facade Improvement Program provides property owners with
financial assistance (grant) to improve the appearance of their properties in
designated areas of Tampa's Community Redevelopment Area (CRAs). The program is
