May 23, 2012 - Thanks to all of the members who came out to participate in our Points of Distribution (PODS) tabletop exercise on Thursday, May 10th. This is an important mission that we will continue to prepare for with a full-scale exercise in the coming months. Please watch the website for updated information. May 23, 2012 - It’s that time of year again! The 2012 Atlantic Hurricane Season begins June 1 and lasts through November 30. As with any disaster, it’s critical you prepare yourself, your family, and your community for these severe storms and their cascading hazards (e.g. flooding, tornadoes, landslides, high winds, power outages). Families, individuals and businesses who know their risk and what actions to take can reduce the effects of a hurricane disaster.  more...
May 23, 2012 - On Saturday, June 2, 2012 there will be a Hurricane Expo at the Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) from 9am - 2PM. CERT members are encouraged to attend and answer questions about CERT at our table. Link to the event website: www.tampabayhurricaneexpo.com.  
May 23, 2012 - A Basic CERT Training Class is being offered to the public. The purpose of the course is to provide citizens with the basic skills needed during a major disaster. This training will allow graduates to respond to the immediate needs of their community in the aftermath of a major disaster - the time when emergency services may not be immediately available.  more...
