Thomas R.P. Snelling is a graduate of Miami University in Ohio and holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of South Florida. Prior to his employment with the City of Tampa, he worked for the City of Fort Myers Planning Department focusing on land use, zoning and comprehensive planning. He also has private sector planning experience with a focus on developments of regional impact, zoning and land development regulations and is a member of the American Planning Association.

Mr. Snelling is the Green Officer for the City of Tampa and the manager of Administration for the department of Growth Management and Development Services. He has been with this department since 1992 having previously served as the manager of the Land Development Coordination Division.
