Foreclosure Prevention Assistance

HOPE NOW Program

Due to changes in the housing and mortgage market, foreclosures are increasing.  The U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has created a partnership with some major national lenders to form the HOPE NOW Alliance. 

Locally, HUD has contracted with CDC of Tampa (813-232-3552) and Consumer Credit Counseling Services (800-741-7040) to provide counseling and assistance to qualified borrowers facing foreclosure action.

The HOPE NOW Alliance can be a good resource for borrowers.  HOPE NOW has a toll-free number for borrowers 1-888-995-HOPE and the website is www.hopenow.com

Borrowers can also go directly to the FHA for information.  FHA offers refinance options to borrowers that may be at risk of foreclosure.  Contact the FHA at 1-800-CALL-FHA or www.fha.gov/.  FHA information is attached.
