Rehabilitation of Owner Occupied Residences – Deferred Payment Loan
To enable low and very low income owner-occupant residents to
maintain ownership of housing that is decent, safe, and sanitary.
Maximum Deferred Payment Loan amount shall be $50,000.00. (If
you live in East Tampa CRA District an additional $30,000 is
available for rehab with TIF funds)

Assistance please call 274-7954 to be put on the waiting
list. An application packet will be sent to you.
When you receive an Application for Rehabilitation Assistance to complete,
please return completed application, signed authorization forms, and all
requested information to Housing and Community Development, 2105 N. Nebraska
Ave., Tampa, FL 33602, Attn: Harriet Stone. If you have any questions, please
call (813) 274-5732. The following documents (which apply to your household)
must be submitted with your application:
- Completed HCD Application for Housing Rehabilitation Assistance to
include the following information:
- Name, social security number, date of birth, marital status, and
years of schooling for applicant and co-applicant (if any).
- Complete list
of all household members and their relationship to applicant residing in the
residence.
- Name and address of each employer for the past two (2) years
(for all employed household members).
- All other sources of income for all
household members (ex. child support, Social Security award letter, VA award
letter, pensions, retirement accounts).
- Names, account numbers, and
account balances of all bank accounts, CDs, stocks, bonds, insurance, etc.
(Also include any property you own).
- An Authorization form signed by all household members receiving income.
- Proof of number of household members by submitting latest signed, copy
of federal income tax return. If self-employed include two- (2) years profit
and loss statement for the business. One or more of the following (as
applicable) may be required to provide additional information on household
size as needed:
- Birth certificate(s) on which the parent/applicant’s name
is listed.
- School record(s), which provide the parent/applicant’s name and
address.
- Court-ordered letter(s) of guardianship.
- Divorce decree • Letter(s) of adoption.
- Social security card(s).
- Last two (2) pay stubs for all employed household members.
- Last six statements for each bank account (checking, savings, etc.).
- Child support documentation for each applicable child (such as divorce
decree and recent statements, etc.)
- Recent SSI, Social Security, Disability, Pension, documents for each
applicable recipient.
- Proof of ownership by providing a copy of your deed.
- Proof of Homeowner’s Insurance coverage.
- Copy of latest property tax receipt.
- If you are currently making mortgage payments, a copy of the mortgage
payment coupon, receipt or mortgage statement.
If you do not submit all required documents within ten days of your
application, it will be considered incomplete and will be rejected.
The City will bid out all rehabilitation jobs to approved contractors and the
home owner will be able to select the contractor who performs the necessary
