Because of our sponsors, in 1994 we established an annual scholarship award program.  In 2000 and 2001, we established two separate $10,000.00 Scholarship Endowments at the University of South Florida and one at Hillsborough Community College. We are proud that our scholarship are fully endowed and, scholarships will be awarded to Latino students in perpetuity.

The MHHC also established a Scholarship Endowment at Hillsborough Community College.   That endowment is currently supporting two recipients.

We are truly a "grassroots", hard-working Committee. In addition to the Scholarship awards, committee members have also mentored many at-risk Hispanic youths from local Elementary, Middle and High Schools. For many years, we have coordinated and hosted a Holiday Celebration (with food and toys) for the students at Desoto Elementary School. Without our help, many of these children would not have had any holiday celebration. Additionally, some of our members have mentored at-risk children through the City's partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters at various local schools.
