The Parking Division recognizes the need to implement a program that allows for monthly parking at on-street parking meters throughout perimeter parking areas of the downtown business core. A number of parking meters located in the perimeter areas already offer low hourly parking rates and still require patrons to feed the meter for long-term parking.

As a viable solution, the Parking Division has chosen to re-introduce the on-street, parking meter permit program. Beginning March 2009, on-street parking meters located within the following street addresses will be available for permit parking during the hours of 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. The zone will be designated as Meter Zone B:

Meter Zone B:
800 - 1000 East Whiting Street (between Jefferson and North Nebraska)
100 - 500 South Nebraska Street (South of East Whiting to East Eunice)
900 East Walton (South of the ConAgra Foods plant)
900 East Cumberland (South of the ConAgra Foods plant)

Permits for this metered parking area will be offered at the monthly rate of $27 per month. Patrons electing to take advantage of this program will be required to display their permit from the rearview mirror of their vehicle while parking at the on-street meter. The permits are available by contacting the Parking Division’s monthly parking line at 813-274-8525.
