Parking Division
Under the direction of the Department of Public Works, the
Parking Division is responsible for the oversight of public parking locations
within the City of Tampa limits. With an annual budget just over $16 million,
the Division develops parking policy and plans for specific facility expansion
to serve the parking demand in the central business district and surrounding
commercial and residential areas.
The present parking inventory consists of 9 garages and 10 surface lots owned
and/or operated by the Division. Additionally, 11 surface lots are leased from
the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority and operated by the Division,
comprising a grand total of 11, 572 off-street spaces. Total on-street spaces
controlled by parking meter consist of 1,601 in the downtown core.
The Division is also responsible for the oversight of residential parking areas
in the Channel District and South Ybor City. For additional information
