Tampa Trails & Greenways Project Minutes of Advisory Committee Meeting

Call to Order

Date: April 13, 2004

  • The meeting was called to order at approximately 2:40pm
Attendees:
  • Sally Thompson, Chair; Randy Stribling, South Seminole Heights Neighborhood Association; Mary Helen Duke, Greenways & Trails Coordinator.
  • Ms. Duke announced that the meeting had received proper public notice in the City Clerk’s office and called the meeting to order. She handed out draft CMAQ applications for six proposed projects and explained that four of these projects had been submitted in previous years, yet remained unfounded by either the MPO or FDOT7. She noted that the purpose of the meeting was to review each proposed project based on the segment prioritization evaluation matrix adopted as part of the Tampa Greenways and Trails Master Plan by City Council in February 2001. Ms. Duke handed out score sheets based on evaluation matrix. After discussion, the subcommittee decided to use one score sheet for all six projects. The six projects under consideration included:

    * Hillsborough River Greenway- Pedestrian Bridge Connector;
    * Hillsborough River Greenway – Downtown Phase;
    * Hillsborough River Greenway – Lowry Park Phase;
    * South Tampa Greenway;
    * Lemon Street/Cypress Point Park Connector; and
    * Bayshore Boulevard Greenway - South Davis Boulevard Multi-Purpose Path.

    The subcommittee discussed each of the six criteria for each project and developed project rankings within each criteria for the first ten criteria listed on the score sheet. See attached. Ms Duke was authorized to complete the score sheet on behalf of the subcommittee. Another meeting would be scheduled for the subcommittee to review the staff recommendations.

    At approximately 5:05pm, the meeting adjourned
