The City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department accepts applications for summer employment from January - May. If you are looking to build your resume, enhance your leadership experience, participate in team building, meet new and interesting people, but, above all, positively impact the lives of our youth – WE HAVE THE JOB FOR YOU! Opportunities include: Applicants must be: Recreation LeadersCandidates must be self-motivated individuals who can inspire children to participate in activities. Some experience working with children and some education or training in recreation or physical education is preferred. Work will be conducted outdoors and indoors. Candidates must attend an two four-hour training sessions. LifeguardsOnce you pass the qualifying test, you will be enrolled in our Training Program that will teach the critical skills of CPR, first-aid, and techniques for saving a swimmer in distress. Art InstructorsArt instructors are needed for the eight-week Roving Summer Arts Program. The positions require experience in art instruction as well as knowledge and experience in leading and organizing large groups of children. Training in art instruction preferred.
