These look beautiful on a mantle or table. Choose words that
are meaningful to you.
What
you need:
Glass vases with straight sides
Translucent paper
Candles
Computer and printer
What you do:
Before you start, make sure your paper will wrap
around the vase with a small overlap.
Choose your words and on your computer, choose
a variety of fonts to repeat.(We
used 3 to 5 different fonts.)
Print our your page
Let dry
Wrap around vase and secure with double-sided
clear tape or a pretty sticker
Add candles and arrange with some greenery and
ornaments at the bases
Wishing Tree
Start a wonderful tradition at Christmas, Hanukah or Kwanza for
your family. After the small tree is assembled, have each family member
write their wishes, hopes or dreams for the New Year on colorful strips
of paper!
What
you need:
Colorful copy paper (red/green, blue/white, red/green/yellow)
cut approximately 1/2" x 6" long
Scissors
Pen/pencils
Ribbon
Tags (optional)
What you do:
Curl the strips up and place inside the glass ornaments. You may add a tag with each family member’s name or leave
anonymous.
The colors of the paper are thedecorations along with a
pretty ribbon.
Velvet Stamp Ornaments
So elegant and so easy.
What you need:
Velvet (synthetic blends work best)
Iron
Stamps
Spray bottle with water
Scissors
Sewing machine
Ribbon
Fiberfill
What you do:
Cut velvet to fit your stamps with enough excess to
sew around all sides.
Turn iron on to hot setting.
Place stamp with stamp side up.
Place velvet with soft side down to be in contact
with stamp.
Spray the back side of velvet with water.
Place the iron firmly on stamp and leave for
approximately 15 seconds.Peek
to see if it has made an impression before you lift up material
completely.If impression is not visible, heat longer.
Sew sides together to make little pillows, leaving a
1” to 2” opening to put in fiberfill.
