What you do:
Sweetheart Chalk Boards
A gift to give for Valentines but can be a sweet reminder all year round!
What you need:
- Wooden hearts 6" 8"
- Chalk board paint, black or green
- Drill
- Chalk and eraser
- Ribbon
What you do:
- Drill holes near top of heart
- Spray hearts with paint, letting dry between coats. Do both sides.
- When completely dry, prime the surface of hearts by rubbing side of chalk over painted
surface.
- Erase excess chalk.
- Write your Valentine a message!! Use another language oh, so sophisticated!
(French: Je taime I love You. Amour love
- You can erase after Valentines and write other messages and hang on your doorknob.
Example: Do not disturb, Peace, Sarahs room, Back later!
Dots of Color Hearts
What you need:
- Yellow chalk
- Tempera paint
- Cotton-tip swabs
- Paint tray
- White drawing paper
What you do:
- Sketch your picture lightly with yellow chalk. The faint lines will brush off easily
when your painting is dry.
- Outline the main shapes of your picture with cotton-tip swabs dipped in paint. Use a new
swab for each color.
- Fill in the shapes with more dots. For smaller dots, pull the cotton away and use just
the cardboard stick.
Marble Rolling Hearts
What you need:
- Tempera paint
- Marbles
- Spoon and small dishes
- Box lid
What you do:
- Pour paint into dishes and drop two or three marbles into each color. Lift them out and
set them on paper taped in the box lid.
- Tip the box lid so the marbles roll around. When the paint is used up, dunk the marbles
back into the paint-add new colors.
- Try taping a smaller piece of paper in the middle of the larger one. When you lift it
off, youll see a white design left behind!
