2009 Civilian Volunteer Irene MillerIrene Miller has devoted over 42 years of her life to the Tampa Police Department.  Beginning in 1960, she began her career working in the Records Section as a Records Clerk and ultimately retiring from the Department in January 1992 as the Chief’s Secretary.

Irene became a civilian volunteer in 1999 and has provided more than 2800 volunteer hours with the Tampa Police Department.

In 2008 alone, Irene donated over 318 hours of her time working in the Police Museum.  Irene comes to work at the Museum with a pleasant personality and she is always willing to share memories with others about TPD.  When Irene is not volunteering her time at the Police Museum, she is very active in her church and helps to prepare and serve meals to the homeless on Sundays.

For her long time dedication to CVAP and the Tampa Police Department, we are proud to recognize Irene Miller as the 2008 CVAP Volunteer of the Year.
