Captain Diane Hobley-Burney will
serve as the Captain over the Support Services Bureau and will oversee
the department’s training unit, evidence, records and reserve force.
During her 23-year diverse career, she has worked as a patrol
Lieutenant, supervised one of the top producing Quick Uniform Attack on
Drugs squads, worked as a domestic violence detective, supervised school
resource officers and managed crime prevention.
After 23-years-of dedicated service to the
citizens of Tampa, policing is Captain Hobley-Burney's passion. As she
continues her career, her top priorities will always be the safety and
well being of the citizens and officers of Tampa. She also has a
passion for stopping the cycle of domestic violence which prompted her
to become a domestic violence investigator and trainer for the
Department.
The newly
appointed Captain earned her BS in Sociology from Saint Leo University
and she graduated in the top of her police academy class. She is
currently working on her MA in Criminology. |
