The 13th Annual Tampa Police Memorial 5k Run was held on October 13, 2008. Since 1994, this event has been held for two purposes - remember those police officers that gave their lives in the line of duty and to raise funds to provide college scholarships to police officer's children. This event is the second largest road race in the City of Tampa with between 700 and 800 participants. Mayor Pam Iorio started this years race and Lee Stevens was first across the finish line.
