Thousands Run in Honor of Fallen Officers
October 9, 2010--The Tampa Police Department's Memorial Run hit a record number of participants this year. 2,673 citizens and law enforcement officers crossed the finish line in support of those lost in the line of duty--up from 700 last year. The record breaking turnout is largely due to a
collaborative effort of the department's Memorial Committee and the Gasparilla Distance Classic Association. As the race grows in popularity, both groups expect and even greater turnout next year.
