I joined the Tampa Police Explorer Post #275 on October 2nd, 1981.
Over the next several years, I ascended through the ranks and
eventually obtained the highest rank available as Major. I
also was the team Captain of the State Champion Pistol Team and
State Competition Team. Throughout my tenure with the
Explorers, I volunteered hundreds of hours throughout the department
as well as the Ride-A-Long Program.
On November 1987, I was hired
as a Police Communication Dispatcher. In March of 1989, I
became a police officer and I retired from the Police Explorers.
As a police officer, I founded the department's DUI (Driving Under
the Influence) Unit in 1995, where I stayed for approximately 14
years. During my stay with the DUI Unit, I made thousands of
arrests making the City of Tampa's streets safer. In 2009, I
transferred to the Patrol Unit where I am able to work closely with
the citizens as their needs arise and to be a role model for younger
During my off time, I perform as a stand-up comedian throughout
the state in local clubs. In 2010, I performed as the
headliner for the "Comedy for Cops" fundraiser for my fallen brethrens
Officers David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab. This event was a

eyes to this type of career field and it allowed me to experience
new things that the average teenager may not possess. The
knowledge I gained in this program is a once in a lifetime
