Applying for City Co-Sponsorship Please note the following deadlines for application: The Process The process of acquiring city co-sponsorship for events (requesting the City waive park rental fees, for example) has changed. In order to secure co-sponsorship, you need to send a letter to the Mayor, requesting the specific items or personnel you want provided for your event. The Honorable Pam Iorio, Mayor, City of Tampa You should also send a copy to the Office of Special Events. Susan B. Robinson, Special Events Coordinator As soon as we receive the letter, we request an estimate of costs from affected city departments or divisions, and provide that information to the Mayor's office for a decision. A five-member committee reviews the requests and costs and makes recommendations. There are some items the city can’t provide, waive fees for, or even have to give; Portolets, Bicycle Barricades, and Insurance are just three examples. But we can help you procure these items through various agencies and vendors. We want to help you in your quest to have fun, safe, and secure neighborhood events. |
