Building Rental Rules and Regulations:

  • The minimum rental is limited to four hours. No activities will be permitted to extend beyond 11 :00 p.m. A performance deposit is required for each permit. Permits are not intended for recurring activities, therefore, each organization will be limited to three permits in a calendar year.

  • A minimum caretaker fee will be charged for the first four hours of duty plus one hour cleanup after the event for a total of 5 hours. Each hour of duty after the initial four hours will be charged the current hourly rate

  • The use of nails, tacks, staples, etc., will not be permitted to secure decorations. All decorations must be removed prior to leaving the facility.

  • THE SALE OR POSSESSION OF ALCOHOL IS PROHIBITED. No gambling or games of chance will be permitted.

  • No additional furniture will be allowed in the building and furniture is not to be removed from the building at anytime. The permittee agrees to be responsible for leaving the facility in a clean and satisfactory condition upon the conclusion of the event.

  • If required by the Parks Director the permittee shall hire, at its own expense, a certified law enforcement officer for event crowd control.

  • No admission charge or sale of items will be allowed. Commercial groups are not allowed to use facilities to promote their products, business, etc.

  • Building capacities are based on fire safety codes and are not to be exceeded for any reason.

  • The permittee hereby assures that all programs and activities implemented at the facility and aimed at the general public will be conducted on a non-discriminatory basis regardless of an individual's gender, race, color, or national origin.

  • The rental fee, caretaker fee, and performance deposit shall be paid in full upon signing the rental agreement. There will be a $20 charge for every returned check. All permits are conditional upon payment. Checks and money orders are accepted subject to collection. No out-of-state checks will be accepted for payment. Checks must be imprinted with the name of the signee. Applicant must provide picture identification, if not paying with cash.

  • No refunds will be made unless a notice of cancellation of the agreement is put in writing and received in the Parks and Recreation Department office at least seven days prior to the rental date. If notice is not received within the seven day period the rental fee is forfeited; However, the caretaker fee and performance deposit will be refunded. The original white receipt must be presented for a refund to be processed. The refund takes approximately four to six weeks and a check is sent in the mail. Refunds will only be given to the entity whose name appeared on the payment check or if paid with cash, the person who signed the agreement.

  • Disclaimer. As part of the rental agreement, the Permittee agrees to hold the Permitter harmless, to release the Permitter from and to indemnify the Permitter against any and all claims or liability for any loss, damage or injury during the term of the permit. Full details of this disclaimer are stated in the rental agreement.

  • The Parks Director reserves the right to require liability insurance which lists the City of Tampa as an additional insured during the term of this permit.

  • Discounted Fees. The Parks Director may give a twenty-five percent (25%) discount on the rental fee if the applicant, user or patron can show written proof at the time of filing the application, that it is duly recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization. It must be stated in writing that the exemption is current and has not been revoked. To be exempt from state sales tax the applicant must produce written proof i.e. State of Florida Department of Revenue Consumer's Certificate of Exemption.

  • The Parks Director may waive all or part of the rental fee for events designated by the Mayor as cosponsored by the City, or if the applicant, user or patron is: (a) a City department, (b) a party to a reciprocal use agreement with the City, (c) a Neighborhood Watch Organization officially registered with the Police Department. (d) a Neighborhood Association officially registered with the Mayor's Office. All requests must be in writing and on letterhead and signed by the department head, president or other head official. The discount or waiver shall only apply to rental fees. not to other fees, charges or deposits.

  • If the requested activity is held during non-staffed hours, the Parks Director shall charge, at the current rate, the caretaker's overtime wages required to open, close and staff the building.
