How do I apply for sanitary sewer service?
There are several service types such as single family residence, commercial or multi-family residence. Application forms can be downloaded from the Application for Sanitary Sewer Service Fees page.

How Does Sewer Maximum Work?
Your sewer billing is based on the actual water meter readings.  Since all the metered water does not enter the sewer system, a Sewer Max program was developed to account for the water used for lawn care, car washing, etc. The 3rd lowest monthly usage is considered the normal maximum amount of water that enters the sewer system, or the "SEWER MAX" billed.

In our bi-monthly read/bill system the 2nd lowest usage (4 months history) is divided in half.  On the sample chart to the right: 9 divided by 2 = 4.5. Since partial units are not billed, the 4.5 is rounded to 5 ccfs.  This is your 3rd lowest usage and becomes your Sewer Maximum for the next 12 months.  Sewage will not be billed on water consumed over 5 ccf per month. Note:  Not applicable with reclaim on irrigation meter.

What are capacity fees?
Capacity fees are assessed on a one time basis when a customer desires to connect to the Sanitary Sewers system.  These fees pay for capital improvements associated with the Wastewater Treatment Plant and primary intercepting systems.

How much is the monthly disposal rate?
Standard Rate Per Unit inside the City limits is $3.91 /CCF. Outside the City limits is $4.89 /CCF.

What should be done with hazardous materials?
Depending on the material(s), there are several recommended ways of disposal. Substances marked "drain" can be poured down the drain, but with plenty of water. The exception to this rule is if you own a septic tank. The label on a substance should contain information about any possible damage it can cause to a septic tank. Substances marked "trash" are materials that cannot be poured down a drain, but are safe to thrown away for collection. Substances coded "hazardous" should be saved either to be given to a hazardous wastes contractor or for a community wide collection day.
