Pipeline Construction Inspection and Survey

The Inspection and Survey Division of the Wastewater Department is responsible for the following duties:

• Provide survey layout for construction related activities.
• Provide survey information from which designs are prepared.
• Provide survey services related to real estate transactions.
• Verify that line, grade, workmanship and materials conform to either the contract documents or the developers' package for all sewer pipeline work performed by contractors.
• Resolve design conflicts that result on sewer pipeline work.
• Prepare as-built information for record drawings.
• Update and replace City survey reference marks.
• Maintain records of and authorize and approve payment for all contract-related sewer pipeline construction.
• Locate Sewer Department facilities in response to the state-mandated "Sunshine State One Call" system.
• Coordinate with the public, private and public utility groups, contractors and other governmental agencies to ensure that survey and construction-related activities proceed with minimal impact to those entities.
