Josephine Howard Stafford Memorial Award The Josephine Howard Stafford Memorial Award was adopted to honor a current or
former City of Tampa female employee who demonstrates outstanding commitment to
her position and the community. The award is given in memory of Ms. Stafford
who devoted 24 years to the City of Tampa as an Assistant City Attorney. She
was also the first woman judge in Hillsborough County and was a pioneer for
women's issues, both professionally and in the community.
Do you know someone who has or had at least 5 years employment with the City of Tampa, has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to her position with the City of Tampa and has enriched our City of Tampa and community by notable contributions and achievements?
Nominee should meet the following criteria: Award Criteria
Previously nominated someone but they
weren't awarded? The Committee invites individuals who have submitted
nominations in previous years to resubmit. Please note that nominations are
accepted for posthumous recognition as well.
