Women's History Month Celebration

The 2012 Celebration was held on March 6

Keynote Address: Elizabeth Dearborn Davis, Co-founder and CEO of Akilah Institute for Women

Mistress of Ceremonies: JoAnn Urofsky from WUSF

Entertainment: Rampello Jazz Band

Special Guests: MacDill Air Force Base honorees and Honor Guard

City of Tampa Television telecasts the celebration LIVE on Verizon FiOS channel 15 and Bright House Networks channel 615.  Replays of the celebration can be seen in March and throughout April or by using the CTTV Programs On Demand feature.

Do you know someone who has or had at least 5 years employment with the City of Tampa, has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to her position with the City of Tampa and has enriched our City of Tampa and community by notable contributions and achievements?  

Nominee should meet the following criteria:

Award Criteria

  • Excellence in her career field; demonstrated leadership as a role model or mentor; advancement to a professional level or field where women are under represented

  • Commitment to her career through active involvement in professional associations and organizations

  • Commitment to community service through volunteer activities that are in addition to her professional duties.

Previously nominated someone but they weren't awarded? The Committee invites individuals who have submitted nominations in previous years to resubmit. Please note that nominations are accepted for posthumous recognition as well.
 

The award will be presented during the Women's History Month Celebration.
