Gateway Serves as an identifiable symbol for Ybor City This landmark gateway is located at the intersection of 7th Ave. & Nick Nuccio A smaller gateway, complimentary in design, is located in the median of Palm Ave at Nebraska 3. New District Signage Program that creates a new logo and look for Ybor City. All of the vehicular and pedestrian signs will be replaced by new signs. The program includes overhead signs, parking signs, destination signs, street name signs, bus parking, and coordination of existing signs with new poles. 4. Parking lot landscaping improvements to the public lots in Ybor City. 5. New historic lights (23) were installed on 8th Ave. 6. New traffic signal was installed at 8th Avenue and 21st & 22nd Streets 7. District wide sanitary sewer improvements. 8. Water vault improvements in deficient blocks for fire sprinkler operation. 8TH AVENUE DEVELOPMENTSTREETCAR Major economic development tool for the revitalization of the greater downtown Tampa area. The streetcar will connect three districts: Ybor City, Channel District and Downtown Transportation link will encourage remote parking, promote tourism, contribute to the Citys ambiance and reinforce Tampas unique history $55 million project CENTENNIAL PARK IMPROVEMENTS Addition of privately operated Alessis Cafe Beignet at west end Improvements have included new restrooms with covered events area, improved lighting and removal of fountain at center of park. Enhancement of park includes a new south entry with the addition of the Nick Nuccio Statue Site of many special events as well as the weekly Ybor City Fresh Market, Main Street Quarterly Arts and Crafts Festivals, Festa Italiana, Super Paella and others. CASITAS PROJECT Florida Department of Transportation is coordinating the relocation and renovation of 5 casitas near I-4 to the east side of 19th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. The casitas will be dedicated to the City of Tampa to develop and then managed by the Ybor Museum as retail spaces. Phase I: $12 million project with an additional $18 million phase II plan. The project brings 900+ new employees to the Ybor City area.
