East Tampa Community Redevelopment Area
East Tampa is ideally situated between Downtown, the Port of Tampa and the University of South Florida and offers convenient access to three interstates and Tampa International Airport. The community continues to attract private investment throughout the 7.5 square-mile area, especially along Hillsborough Avenue where the new Walmart Supercenter and other retail outlets are under construction. The City remains committed to investing in significant public safety, aesthetic and infrastructure projects, such as “Bright Lights, Safe Nights” and the recently completed “Clarence Fort Memorial Trail”.
The CRA Façade Improvement Program provides property owners with financial assistance (grant) to improve the appearance of their properties in designated areas of Tampa's Community Redevelopment Area (CRAs). Click on the banner for program information and application.
Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program
The City of Tampa’s Housing & Community Development Division is accepting applications for its Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program beginning July 5, 2016. The period is open for the 1st 1,000 applications or until August 31, 2016, whichever occurs first. Click here for more details.
City Seeks Members for Community Redevelopment Areas Community Advisory Committees
The City of Tampa Community Redevelopment Agency is seeking applicants to fill vacancies on the East Tampa CRA Community Advisory Committee. Advisory Committee members must live or work within the East Tampa Community Redevelopment Area or have significant interests within the area. Individuals with a background or expertise in the redevelopment process such as neighborhood planning, real estate development or finance will also be considered.
