| University of Tampa - private university in an urban setting. Over 3,400 students representing 50 states and U.S. territories and 80 countries attend UT. Of this, 2,900 students are undergraduates and 500 are graduate students. Approximately 1,500 students live in campus housing.
The University of Tampa was built in 1891 by Henry B. Plant as the luxurious Tampa Bay Hotel. The historic site is owned by the city and leased to the University of Tampa.
John Sykes College of Business Building - The 1925 era McKay auditorium was renovated and the John H. Sykes College of Business was built from the shell of the building. The Education and classroom facility was built at a cost of $10 Million.
