Volunteer Tax Preparer

Greeter/Screener/Intake Coordinator

Duties

• Greet and screen clients for free tax preparation. 
• Set-up and manage files.

Commitment

• Attend training in January
• Serve at a Community Tax Preparation Site
• Only 4 hours per week -   February 1st through April 15th

 Requirements

• Basic computer skills
• Ability to listen and deal with the public
• Friendly, dependable and flexible attitude

 Training

• Volunteer training to familiarize with tax preparation sites and activities
• Convenient training hours and community locations

Outreach Worker

Duties

• Conduct community outreach and provide information and flyers.

Commitment

• Attend training in January
• Serve at a Community Tax Preparation Site
• Only 4 hours per week -   February 1st through April 15th

 Requirements

• Basic computer skills
• Ability to listen and deal with the public
• Friendly, dependable and flexible attitude

 Training

• Volunteer training to familiarize with tax preparation sites and activities
• Convenient training hours and community locations

Volunteer Tax Preparer

Duties

• Prepare simple federal income tax returns

• Become a certified tax preparer

Commitment

• Attend 16 hours of tax law training in January
• Serve at a Community Tax Preparation Site
• Only 4 hours per week -   February 1st through April 15th

 Requirements

• Basic computer skills
• Ability to listen and deal with the public
• Friendly, dependable and flexible attitude

Training

• Simple tax law and electronic filing software
• Convenient training hours and community locations
• Become a certified tax volunteer
