City Cemeteries

The Tampa Parks and Recreation Department owns and operates four cemeteries. These cemeteries total approximately 40 acres with over 29,500 recorded burials to date and have made city cemetery records available to search online.

Oaklawn Cemetery was Tampa's first cemetery. It was deeded in 1850 as a final resting place for "White and Slave, Rich and Poor." Feel free to explore our virtual self-guided tour on Oaklawn Cemetery to learn many interesting facts about Tampa's history.
