Greenways & Trails Master Plan Maps

The Tampa Greenways and Trails Master Plan Map represents more than two years of work by the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) and City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department.

A series of four public workshops were held in June of 1999 to receive public input on the location of greenways and trails in the City of Tampa. More than 300 citizens put marker to paper in voicing their opinions about trail routes. Every route or location was evaluated by a team of volunteers based on a set of criteria identified by the Citizen's Advisory Committee. The resulting maps were presented again in public workshops during March of 2000. Results were again evaluated and the resulting map was included in the final Master Plan.

The master plan map was actually broken up into 33 sections that made viewing easier. The goal of the greenway and trail map was to show existing facilities and to identify opportunities on public property. Trails and greenways through neighborhoods are not shown on these maps. The CAC and City of Tampa will work one-on-one with communities in identifying these routes.
