Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

The City of Tampa takes security very serious and protecting our customer/citizens information is paramount, including their Personally Identifiable Information (PII).  PII is defined as an individual’s first name, first initial and last name, or any middle name and last name, in combination with any one or more of the following data elements:

     (a) Social security number.

     (b) Driver’s license number or Florida Identification Card number.

     (c) Account number, credit card number, or debit card number, in combination with any required security code, access code, or password that would permit access to an individual’s financial account.

Please provide PII only for services on our web site that specifically request it, such as online payments, employment applications and claims.  Do NOT include PII in general messaging services, such as email or the Customer Service Center.

Online Payments & Related Transactions

Providing you with a secure online experience is a high priority of the City of Tampa. We recognize that your information security is of the utmost importance, and we have devoted a great deal of effort to ensure that your personal information is safeguarded.

Your online payment transactions are supported by industry-standard data encryption available through your browser called SSL encryption.  These services are designed to ensure the privacy of your credit card information, name, address, email and other information you provide to us.

MyTampaGov Services

MyTampaGov is a site personalization feature of the City of Tampa web site.  The goal of MyTampaGov is to deliver advantages intended to make City of Tampa online services more convenient.  In order to provide this convenience, you may choose to provide some personal information.

MyTampaGov has built in protective measures. Access to your membership will always require you to "sign in" using a password selected by you.  You will never be asked for your MyTampaGov password or MyTampaGov personal information by a City of Tampa employee. And please do not disclose your self designated MyTampaGov password.

Further, access & use of MyTampaGov is not actively monitored.  MyTampaGov personal information is not used by other City agencies.  And you may "opt out" or cancel your membership at any time.
