Mayor Buckhorn aboard Kermit

Mayor Buckhorn visited the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Aircraft Operations Center at MacDill Air Force Base for CTTV's The Mayor's Hour program.  Here the Mayor climbed aboard Kermit, the mighty WP-3D Orion Hurricane Hunter, noting the large number of decals signifying each storm the aircraft has penetrated.

Meteorologist Tyler Fleming posed alongside one of the National Weather Service's (NWS) most important forecasting tools - the weather balloon.  This balloon will rise approximately 25 miles into the atmosphere and expand to about 25 feet across.  During its 2 hour journey, the balloon will transmit weather measurements such as temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and pressure back to Tyler and other meteorologists at the NWS. The demonstration was part of The Mayor's Hour focusing on NOAA.

Zac covers the USSOCOM demo downtown

Producer/Director Zac Atwood videotapes a CV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor from the roof of the Tampa Convention Center as part of a US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) demonstration that took place in downtown Tampa. During the scenario, troops performed a drill that included the use of explosions, blank gunfire, this Osprey tilt-rotor, a MH-47 Chinook, a MH-60 Blackhawk and rigid hull inflatable boats.

This MH-47 Chinook took part in the USSOCOM rescue exercise mission. During the event, troops dispatched rigid hull inflatable boats from the rear of the aircraft and then evacuated from the Chinook. CTTV Producer/Director Frank Crum was inside the Chinook during the mission. Watch the video at:
