Request a Grant Letter of Support The City of Tampa Grants Office has established the following process for organizations requesting a letter of support for a grant proposal. In situations where the Grants Office provides a letter of support, agencies must recognize that the Grants Office is neither a partner nor a required assuring entity for the grant. The Grants Office recognizes that grant applicants, if successful, may be able to support and/or enhance services consistent with the City of Tampa’s mission, thereby, improving the lives of the local community by maximizing funding resources other than those provided by the City. For this reason, City officials may wish to provide a letter of support.

The Grants Office will review proposals carefully and will give each request serious consideration; paying particular attention to the programmatic, fiscal, administrative, and legal aspects of the proposal and the anticipated outcomes to Tampa residents.

The following procedure should serve as minimal guidelines for all applicants seeking a letter of support. PLEASE BE SURE TO UPLOAD A SAMPLE LETTER OF SUPPORT AT THE END OF THE FORM.

Residential Service was Missed (Garbage, Recycling, Yard Waste, SWEEP) Use this service to report a missed collection for garbage, yard waste, recycling or SWEEP.

IMPORTANT NOTICE! We do not provide make-up collection for garbage, recycling or yard waste for residential customers whose regularly scheduled collection day falls on City-Observed Holidays*. Garbage, recycling and yard waste collection will resume on your next scheduled service day.

*Holiday make-up collection will only be provided for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays due to the large volume of solid waste generated on those days.

Sewer Blockage Use this service to report problems that may indicate a sewer blockage in a home or commercial facility. Signs of a sewage blockage may include:

- Toilets, basins, baths, or tubs that are slow to empty
- Toilets fill higher than usual
- Gurgling noises in the sanitary drains

Solid Waste Enhanced Environment Program (S.W.E.E.P.) Solid Waste Enhanced Environment Program (S.W.E.E.P.) - In November 2005, The City of Tampa Department of Solid Waste assumed the weekend neighborhood cleanup services, formerly under the N.E.A.T. program, and will continue bulk trash items and debris removal through the S.W.E.E.P. for Cleaner Neighborhoods initiative.

Special Event Permit Request Use this service to inquire about special event permit requirements where street or right-of way access may be affected. Special events (e.g. parades, block parties, carnivals, road festivals, etc.) which are to be held in whole or part in municipal streets and rights-of-way are regulated by way of a permit process.

Special Needs Shelters (Hillsborough County) Use this service to obtain a Special Needs Shelter form. Forms must be filled out and submitted to Hillsborough County prior to June 1 each year or they will not guarantee placement in a special needs shelter.

A special needs shelter is a temporary emergency facility capable of providing care to residents whose medical condition is such that it exceeds the capabilities of the Red Cross Shelter but is not severe enough to require hospitalization.
