Shattering Barriers with Dr. Temple Grandin
MacDonald Training Center will host a virtual evening with international superstar, best-selling author and autism advocate DR. TEMPLE GRANDIN on October 15, 2020 at 7 p.m Herself autistic/a person with autism, Dr. Grandin will talk about the unique abilities of and opportunities for others on the spectrum and the critical importance of inclusive education and employment. Dr. Grandin’s remarks at this year’s Shattering Barriers event will be moderated by Phyllis Guthman, publisher of Bright Feats Magazine, including a live Q&A session with the Zoom® audience.
A pop culture icon as well as a respected scholar and scientist, Temple Grandin has appeared on 60 Minutes and the Today Show, in People and the New York Times. Her 2010 TED talk titled "The World Needs ALL Kinds of Minds" has more than 5,800,000 views.
Dr. Grandin is the New York Times best-selling author of Thinking in Pictures, Animals Make Us Human and Calling All Minds. The HBO movie titled "Temple Grandin”, starring Claire Danes, won seven Emmy awards and a Golden Globe.
