The City of Tampa is working on several policy and program updates to support solar and renewable forms of energy. Through the Department of Energy SolSmart Program, the City is undertaking a thorough review of ordinances and building codes to identify hurdles to solar installation and will act on recommendations to make solar installation easier for homeowners and businesses. The City is also assessing City-owned real estate and roof space to add solar arrays in support of Mayor Castor’s pledge to transition City operations to 100% renewable energy by 2045.
We are excited to work on this issue. If you have questions email Whit Remer.
