USF Latino Scholarship Awards

The Mayor Hispanic Heritage Committee (MHHC) scholarship empowers Latino families with the knowledge and resources needed to successfully complete a higher education program. It offers financial aid opportunities to students with Hispanic backgrounds at Hillsborough Community College (HCC) and the University of South Florida (USF).

The mission of the USF Latino Scholarship is to assist USF in achieving and sustaining the educational benefits of diversity, and increasing the number of USF student interested in issues affecting the Latino community, who are likely to give back to the Latino community after graduation.

This year's Mayor Hispanic Heritage Committee scholarship recipient was Nelson Larzabal Ruiz.  Nelson is in his last year of Biomedical studies at USF and has applied for Med School.
