A group of men and women from around the city have officially earned the title of “Honorary Tampa Police Officer.” Chief Jane Castor recognized 27 Citizen Police Academy graduates at a ceremony on June 28, 2011. She commended the group for their outstanding participation in the nine-week session, which gave them an opportunity to explore the department through a series of hands-on exercises.
The Tampa Police Department’s Training Unit is already gearing up to host another Citizen Police Academy class during the fall. Please check out the department’s website here to learn more about the academy and when registration for the next session will begin.
