Mayor Buckhorn kicks off TPD’s Share the Road safety campaign by biking to work. Students and faculty from USF and 3 other Florida universities competed as "Team Florida" in the Department of Energy's Solar Decathlon, tasked with designing and building an energy-efficient, affordable and attractive solar-powered home. The Tampa Water Department is working to conserve water by improving the efficiency of irrigation systems. The City of Tampa Black History Committee honored deserving students at a scholarship awards ceremony. Tampa’s emergency management officials hosted the Tampa Bay Hurricane Expo at MOSI. Latinos Unidos Luncheon
Presented by the Mayor’s Hispanic Advisory Council, this annual event showcases the rising influence and economic impact of Hispanics in the Tampa Bay area, and throughout our state and nation. This year’s keynote speaker is Kimberly Casiano, President of Kimberly Casiano & Associates Inc., an advisory firm specializing in the recruitment of qualified Hispanic directors for corporate boards.
17th Annual Our Heroes Luncheon
Honoring the men and women of law enforcement and fire rescue in our community for their everyday acts of heroism. The event is the largest of its kind in the United States.
