Assistance Needed in Identifying Pedestrian Victim in Fatal Crash


On Friday 5/27/16 at approximately 5:30 p.m., a traffic crash occurred on Florida Avenue just south of Columbus Drive.  A White/Hispanic male was struck and killed. The Tampa Police Traffic Homicide Unit is asking for the public’s help in identifying the male victim so his family can be contacted and notified.

The deceased victim is described as a White/Hispanic male, 55-65 years of age with a “scruffy” beard.  He is 5’3” and 163lbs. He is believed to be homeless and possibly frequented the Nebraska Avenue or Florida Avenue areas.  He was carrying a wooden stick that had the bark carved off and appeared to be used as a walking cane. He also was wearing a bright red back pack.
