The Internal Audit Department released their audit report of the Housing Programs.

The City of Tampa's affordable housing program is administered by the Housing Division of Economic Opportunity’s Planning and Development Department. The Housing Division administers a variety of housing programs that assist eligible low and moderate-income residents with the purchase, rent, or rehabilitation of existing housing units located within the City of Tampa limits.

Both Federal and State funds are used to finance the City’s housing programs. The State Housing Initiatives Program (SHIP), Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME), and the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), offer loans and/or grants to prospective homebuyers, homeowners or developers for the purchase, rehabilitation or construction of new affordable housing units.

The Housing Division also invests in Tampa's neighborhoods by participating in and supporting many social services and economic development projects that continue to have a positive impact on our community. In partnership with local non-profit organizations, lenders and private developers, the City invests its federal grant funds to redevelop older neighborhoods and Tampa's neediest communities.
